Recently, we had the opportunity to showcase our skills in Boston, where we were tasked with filming social testimonials for one of our esteemed global clients. Here’s a glimpse into our two-day adventure and the meticulous efforts that made this project a resounding success.

The Road to Boston

When the call came in, we wasted no time packing our van with all the necessary gear and hitting the road to Boston. Our primary tools for this project were two Sony FX6 cameras, each capturing stunning 4K footage using the S-Log3.Cine color profile. This ensured that we had the best possible color grading and dynamic range for post-production, giving the testimonials a polished and professional look.

Real-Time Monitoring and Silent Communication

To keep our clients informed and satisfied throughout the shoot, we used Teradek long-range wireless video transmitters. This allowed the clients to monitor the filming process in real-time, ensuring that every shot met their expectations. Additionally, we employed Hollyland wireless headsets, enabling our team to communicate seamlessly without disturbing the active office environment where we were filming.

Mastering the Art of Natural Light

One of the client's key requests was that the testimonials feel natural and unproduced. They wanted us to “find the light” and capture the authenticity of each moment. At Moving Pictures LLC, finding the light is our specialty. We skillfully utilized natural lighting to create a genuine, non-produced look for each testimonial, enhancing the overall authenticity of the videos.

Adapting for Social Media

Since these videos were destined for social media, we set all our monitors to a 1:1 aspect ratio. While this presented some challenges, our team thrives on overcoming obstacles. By adjusting our workflow and equipment settings, we ensured that the final footage was perfectly optimized for social media platforms.

Photography Excellence

In addition to filming, the client requested professional photos during the shoot. For this, we brought along our best photographer, Ricky Restiano, for the first day. Ricky captured stunning headshots and creative shots of each person speaking on camera, adding an extra layer of professionalism to the project.

Exceeding Expectations

After two days of intense filming and photography, we returned with high-quality footage and images that exceeded the client’s expectations. Our talented editor meticulously crafted the final videos, integrating the testimonials seamlessly with our previously captured B-roll. The client was thrilled with the results and delighted that we delivered the project under budget.
